Broadsheet Posters

A broadsheet is the largest newspaper format and is characterized by long, vertical pages. The largest newsprint sheet available for maximum visual impact.

Margins: Top/Bottom: 0.625" (Non-printable) | Left/Right: 0.5" (Non-printable)

Folding Options:

• Default: 2 Press Folds (approx 11.375" high).
• Extra: 3 Press Folds (approx 11.375" high x 7–8.25" wide).
• Hand Fold: Pocket size (approx 5.6875" x 7–8.25") Additional charge.
• ⚠️ Important: Do not design content to the edge. Broadsheet posters require a specific non-printable margin.

Standard Newspaper

The classic newspaper format. Page Config: 2 Pages (Half sheet) | Multiples of 4 (Full sheets) | Multiples of 4+2 (Loose center sheet).

Margins: Top/Bottom: 0.625" (Non-printable) | Outside: 0.5" (Non-printable) |

• Inside Gutter: Printable.
• Folding:Default is Half Fold (11.375" high). Extra Quarter Fold available.
• ⚠️ Notice: 4-page standards have grip marks down the center gutter which can smudge heavy ink.

Tabloid Newspaper

Booklet-style format printed on full sheets.

Page Count: Must be in multiples of 4 (4, 8, 12, etc.).

Margins: Top/Bottom: 0.5" (Not suggested for printing) | Outside: 0.5" (Non-printable)

• Inside Gutter: Printable.
• Folding: Default is 1 Fold (Vertical Spine). Extra Cross Fold available.
• ⚠️ Critical Setup: Set document width to 11.25". Physical paper is 11.375" with a 0.625" margin; setting file to 11.25" ensures seamless spreads.

Mini-Tab Newspaper

Compact size great for programs.

• Size: 7.875" W x 10.5" H.
• Margins: 0.5" non-printable margin on Top, Bottom, and Outside.
• Paper: 30 lb, 35 lb, or 50 lb available.

1. 30lb Standard Newsprint (45gsm)

• Characteristics: The industry standard. Light grey, uncoated, and highly porous.
• Best For: High-volume daily or weekly distribution where cost-efficiency and authenticity are paramount.

2. 35lb Hi-Brite Newsprint (52gsm)

• Characteristics: A brighter, whiter sheet (approx. 65-70 brightness) that offers higher contrast than standard gray newsprint.
• Best For: Publications featuring color photography, real estate listings, or premium advertising.

3. 50lb White Offset (75gsm)

• Characteristics: A stark white, uncoated paper that is thicker than newsprint.
• Best For: Heavy-duty grocery inserts, durable newsletters, and standalone mailers.

Quantities & Turnaround

• Minimum Order: 1,000 copies. (Orders under 1,000 charged at 1,000 rate).
• Packaging: Standard plastic strapping. Boxing available for extra charge.
• Turnaround: File Correction: 2-3 weekdays. Printing: 3-4 weekdays after proof approval.
• Note: Multi-section jobs require extra time for collating. In-House Spot Color Inks We do not use Pantone (PMS) inks for runs under 10,000 copies. You must use in-house stock colors.
• Available Colors: Green (361U), Red (185U), Red (032U), Orange (021U), Reflex Blue, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow.
• Restrictions: No metallic or Day-Glow.
• File Setup: Do not use layers on spot channels. Use Black + Cyan (or Magenta) and request a substitution.

File Preparation

• Color Mode: CMYK or Grayscale only (No RGB).
• Text: 100% Black (K) only. Do not use Rich Black for text.
• Resolution: 200–300 DPI.
• Export: PDF/X-1a:2001. Uncheck all printer marks.
